Jason Smith, LCMHCA
Serving Clients in: North Carolina
Hi, I’m Jason Smith. I’m glad you’re here.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Licensed School Counselor based in Eastern North Carolina. I work with children, adolescents, families, and adults of all ages navigating life’s challenges—from anxiety and trauma to addiction, grief, and major transitions. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of your next step, you don't have to face it alone.
I earned my bachelor’s degree from Winston-Salem State University, an experience that deeply shaped my commitment to culturally responsive care and community-centered work. I went on to earn a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling at North Carolina State University, where I developed a strong foundation in both clinical practice and student support services. I’ve supported individuals in both school-based and clinical settings, and I bring an identity-conscious, client-centered approach to every session. My work is grounded in empathy, trust, and deep respect for your lived experience.
In therapy, I use a flexible mix of evidence-based and experiential approaches, including CBT, DBT, EMDR, mindfulness, inner child work, and family systems therapy. We’ll tailor our work to fit your needs, pace, and goals.
My goal is to create a safe, affirming, and nonjudgmental space where you can show up fully as yourself. I believe in your ability to heal, grow, and reconnect with your strengths—and I’d be honored to support you along the way.
